Tres Souls invites me the listener into the valued tradition and vintage sound of “Bolero”. Their presentation danced me through the romantic sound track of the Golden Era of Mexican Cinema. They are such finely honed musicians and performers. Not a cut out, but an authentic trio holding dear their Mexican heritage. I listened to Eydie Gorme growing up but I had no idea of the path on which she walked. Tres Souls is true to the past and joyfully intersperses the musical influences of the Mexican diaspora of Los Angeles. I so honor “young people” who are both hip AND traditional. That is a “fine" and a “fine" line to walk. -Holly Near
